Split the memory optimization into 3 selectable modules, defrag memory, free up memory, and empty standby memory. Perfectly compatible with 4K UHD monitors, support 100, 150, and 200 scaling. This program won't impress you much if you're an overclocker or otherwise tech-savvy, as you could probably do most of the things it does by yourself without trouble. Wise Memory Optimizer keeps on its improvements, and the newly released notes are as follows: 1. It doesn't really indicate how it's making performance better without closing programs, either. It lacks diagnostic features and hard-drive-analyzing tools, so you won't know what's causing the problems. Even though we found this program to be quite useful, there were some drawbacks. That way you never have to deal with a crash when you're in the middle of something. It helps you free up memory, defrag memory, and empty standby memory to get your computer running smoothly. As long as it's open, you can tell the program to optimize your memory when it reaches critical levels. The best free Windows memory optimization tool. Not only can Wise Memory Optimizer trim memory usage instantly, it can be programmed to start itself. Download Wise Memory Optimizer for Windows now from Softonic: 100 safe and virus free. There are also some basic settings at hand and you can choose your preferred language. There is a large green button you need to click to optimize your memory usage. It graphs your system's memory on a pie chart so you know how much memory you're using and how much free memory you have. This program's interface is very simple and neat. You won't even have to close any programs. When your PC is misbehaving wouldn't it be easier to press just one button instead of hitting Ctrl-Alt-Del to close programs? Wise Memory Optimizer will optimize your computer's memory on demand, as often as you like.

Do you have the same problems with a 640x400 image as you do with a 2560x1600 image? What is the size of the images you work with? I've experienced lag on 100+layer, 1024x1024 images from time to time. ĭo you have any custom brushes installed? GIMP caches every brush when you launch it, so custom brushes will cause a substantial increase in your launching time. None of these things were an issue on my previous computer. The newest update actually increased brush performance, so there is no latency between drawing and the stroke appearing. I've got a brand new iMac here and GIMP launches in 4sec after I click the icon in the dock. This is NOT a "GIMP running on Mac" issue. Woo.įunny thing, btw? Using Gimp 2.8.4 in XQuartz is actually better than the Native thing. well, better than trial and frustration. WELL CRAP! How would I even imagine that? It took me 4 different builds to finally find one that would give me a hint(the supposed Wacom input devices were first greyed out, then wouldn't appear) and now apparently the solution is downgrade and wait. For instance, brush scale from 2.6 can't be converted to brush size in 2.8." Note Releases for GIMP 2.8 However, the old tools presets are not 100% convertible to the new tool presets. To address the needs to migrate from the old tools presets system to the new one we provide a script in Python. If your graphic tablet doesn't work in GIMP 2.8 as it should, we recommend downgrading to 2.6 until we release GIMP 3.0 that relies on GTK+3 which has fully functional support for advanced input devices. GIMP 2.8 relies on a newer version of GTK+2 that unfortunately has partially broken support for graphics tablets such as Wacom. To make things clear: This is what I get in GIMP, this is what I get in Sketchbook Is this a 2.8 issue or a "GIMP running on Mac" issue? Does anyone have any idea how to avoid this lagging? And probably not a hardware issue considering I had GIMP running smooth on a 4-year-old low-end lnux laptop before. Because of random halts when running, my curves always end up as a series of straight lines, which is really, really shoddy. The software always takes a lot of time loading - more than 15 seconds, usually - and the biggest problem I have is with the lagging. Now that version 2.8 is native I thought things would be a lot better than having to run XQuartz behind, but as it turns out. Because reorganizing my whole modus operandi in other software is always a pain - and sometimes impossible - I've been trying to get GIMP to work on my Macbook pretty much ever since I got the Mac(about last August). AC dynamometer interface includes integrated console, independent console, computer, etc. Typical features include encoders or other speed or position sensors, torque arms and various types of sensors. AC dynamometer (transient electric AC dyno) or high speed dynamometer typically has speed and power feedback for performance testing and monitoring. Dynojet offers this and another newer dyno line that I can't think of off the top of my head offers it also.AC dynamometer working principle, AC dynoĬommon applications for AC dynamometer (transient electric AC dyno) includes high speed and general purpose applications, automotive, aircraft or aerospace, chain or belt drives, gearboxes, fluid power systems, gas or diesel engines, industrial, marine, transmissions and turbines. Like I said above, numbers are great for bragging rights but some shops view it as "the more horsepower I can get out of a car the more people that flood in for the inflated numbers." The advantage the normal Mustang Dyno has is the Eddy current brake so it can apply a rolling load on the car so you can hit areas when tuning that you wouldn't maybe hit (legally) on the street. Always want to start with a base and build from that. It is a tool just like a wrench to give you an idea if things are going the right or wrong direction. You want a before/after comparison for mod and tuning reasons. The thing to remember is the number is half the battle. If I had dyno'd my car on the Mustang and felt good about those numbers, I would have felt crushed when a "higher" reading Dynojet showed something lower or I would have been pulling things apart to figure what has gone wrong. In my case it was a 45 rwhp difference from the Dynojet I typically used. The Mustang Dyno it turns out reads the highest, found out later it was because the individual who runs it got in and adjusted one of the multipliers or something in a file to inflate numbers to what they thought they should be. I've used 4 different brands of dyno's and all read differently. Using a dyno to measure the power to achieve a number is part of the game and does provide bragging rights, but only if others are dynoing on the similar dyno's or even the same one. Which is why its always advisable that ANY tuning or installing/removal of parts, is measured on the same dyno and at similar weather conditions (climate such as temperature, humidity and barometric pressure) can drastically effect power numbers, in order to keep the comparisons consistent. Its been noted that there can be discrepancy of anywhere from 5% to 15% from the other manufacturers.ĭynoDynamics are mostly portable dynos that measure power at the hub, but they do make roller dynos too.Īll dyno's, should be less about how much power can be made, and instead used as a tool to measure a gain or loss on an engines performance. Which generally reads considerably lower than any other dyno manufacturer. Mustang dynos are considered "heart breaker" dynos, but are considered to be more accurate in their measurement because they have formulas that also calculate the vehicles weight and a general value for wind resistance for a car at speed. Its takes that value of torque and multiplies it by 5252rpm and gives you a linear reading.įrom my experience, Dynojet is a "hopes and dreams' dyno since compared to the other 2 common manufacturers, reads a bit higher. IIRC, its read as how much torque is needed to move 550lb-ft weight in one foot. Torque is measured by how much force is required to move a certain amount of weight (cant remember the exact measurement) within the distance of 1foot. The simple match is Horsepower = Torque x engine RPM / 5252. Their accuracy is relatively simple if you're just looking for a power number. Accuracy can be all over the place on a dyno because their values can be changed to read a higher or lower value. These data show the need for an additional pillar of our response: prevent, detect, respond, and care for children. Psychosocial and economic support can help families to nurture children bereft of caregivers and help to ensure that institutionalisation is avoided. Accelerating equitable vaccine delivery is key to prevention. Orphanhood and caregiver deaths are a hidden pandemic resulting from COVID-19-associated deaths. Between two and five times more children had deceased fathers than deceased mothers. Numbers of children orphaned exceeded numbers of deaths among those aged 15-50 years. Countries in our study set with primary caregiver death rates of at least one per 1000 children included Peru (10 1 562 000 children (1 299 000-1 683 000) experienced the death of at least one primary or secondary caregiver. Globally, from March 1, 2020, to April 30, 2021, we estimate 1 134 000 children (95% credible interval 884 000-1 185 000) experienced the death of primary caregivers, including at least one parent or custodial grandparent. We used these estimates to model global extrapolations for the number of children who have experienced COVID-19-associated deaths of primary and secondary caregivers. To avoid overcounting, we adjusted for possible clustering of deaths using an estimated secondary attack rate and age-specific infection-fatality ratios for SARS-CoV-2. We considered parents and custodial grandparents as primary caregivers, and co-residing grandparents or older kin (aged 60-84 years) as secondary caregivers. We used mortality and fertility data to model minimum estimates and rates of COVID-19-associated deaths of primary or secondary caregivers for children younger than 18 years in 21 countries. We provide estimates for the magnitude of this problem resulting from COVID-19 and describe the need for resource allocation. Such children often face adverse consequences, including poverty, abuse, and institutionalisation. Beyond morbidity and mortality, pandemics carry secondary impacts, such as children orphaned or bereft of their caregivers. What’s really interesting is that on top of a PS4 release, the new game is announced for Nintendo Switch, and if you were paying attention at the end of that trailer, Steam as well, joining Persona 4 Golden on the platform. Persona 5 Strikers (also know as Scramble, and The Phantom Strikers) is a collaboration between Omega Force/Koei Tecmo and Atlus, using the Musou gameplay of the Dynasty Warriors (and recent Hyrule Warriors) games, with a full blown sequel to the Persona 5 Royal story. Even your settings are backed up with Carbonite, so you don’t have to worry about configuring a new computer to your desired settings again. For starters, you get unlimited backup storage, continuous backup protection, and external hard disk backup. Overall, this initial setup is easier to process in case of Carbonite than in the case of CrashPlan.īeing a recommendation from CrashPlan itself, Carbonite does hold some similarities with the former. Accordingly, your files will be backed up. Here, you can either choose to go with the recommended settings or customize them yourself. Carbonite is an easy-to-use service that takes you through a simple backup wizard. In addition to the free 60-day extended services that Code42 offers, the company also suggests Carbonite as the alternative you should be switching to. CarboniteĬrashPlan might be shutting down its consumer-focused services, but it sure isn’t leaving you in complete dismay. Platforms: Visit Website (Windows, macOS, Android, iOS) 2. You can return these drives within 30 days and claim a refund. There, you can either download all your data as a ZIP file or request for a chargeable USB flash drive (up to 128 GB) or hard drive to be delivered to you with your data. But first, you’ll have to visit their website and sign in to your account. Backblaze gives you three different ways in which you can do that. That being said, important features like versioning (up to 30 days) and continuous backups still make their way in this alternative. Unlike the former, the latter does not allow you to back up either on external hard drives or on a different computer. One feature from CrashPlan that you will miss in Backblaze is the free local backup option. With Backblaze, you also get two-factor authentication – something that was missing in CrashPlane – and an app for Android and iOS that you can use to access files from anywhere. Moreover, it bears some similarity to CrashPlane, as your data remains encrypted at rest at their data centers and is decrypted only when you download it. Though the numbers are in favor of CrashPlan here, Backblaze’s security in itself cannot be easily compromised. When it comes to security, Backblaze offers a 128-bit encryption for your data as compared to CrashPlan’s 448-bit encryption. Now, if you are wondering, you can even exclude certain folders that may contain files with the specified formats. Instead, Backblaze allows you to specify the file formats that you want to back up, and it takes care of everything else. Unlike CrashPlan, you don’t have to dig through different paths on your computer to specify which files you want backed up. One of the domains where this service stands out is user experience. It offers a single price plan of $50/year, as compared to CrashPlan’s $59.99/year plan for an individual. Though this list is not in any particular order, Backblaze most certainly deserves the top spot. Taking a very minimalist approach, Backblaze is one of the easiest-to-use cloud backup service and arguably the best CrashPlan alternative. ALA is an important omega-3 fatty acid that can help reduce inflammation ( 16, 17). Interestingly, a number of studies have shown that eating chia seeds can increase ALA in the blood. Like flaxseeds, chia seeds also contain a number of important antioxidant polyphenols. A lot of evidence has shown they may reduce cholesterol,īlood pressure and even the risk of cancer.Ĭhia seeds are very similar to flaxseeds because they are also good sources of fiber and omega-3 fats, along with a number of other nutrients.Ī 1-ounce (28-gram) serving of chia seeds contains ( 15): Summary: Flaxseeds are an excellent source of fiber, omega-3 fats, lignansĪnd other nutrients. In addition to reducing the risk of heart disease and cancer, flaxseeds may also help reduce blood sugar, which may help lower the risk of diabetes ( 14). What’s more, similar benefits have been shown regarding prostate cancer in men ( 13). Lignans are phytoestrogens and are similar to the female sex hormone estrogen. This may be due to the lignans in flaxseeds. An analysis of 11 studies found that flaxseeds could reduce blood pressure especially when eaten whole every day for more than 12 weeks ( 9).Ī couple of studies have shown that eating flaxseeds may reduce markers of tumor growth in women with breast cancer, and may also reduce cancer risk ( 10, 11, 12). One large study combined the results of 28 others, finding that consuming flaxseeds reduced levels of “bad” LDL cholesterol by an average of 10 mmol/l ( 8).įlaxseeds may also help reduce blood pressure. Lignans, as well as the fiber and omega-3 fats in flaxseeds, can all help reduce cholesterol and other risk factors for heart disease ( 5, 6, 7). Therefore, if you want to increase your omega-3 levels, it’s best to eat flaxseeds that have been ground ( 1, 2).Ī 1-ounce (28-gram) serving of flaxseeds contains a wide mix of nutrients ( 3):įlaxseeds also contain a number of different polyphenols, especially lignans, which act as important antioxidants in the body ( 4). However, the omega-3 fats are contained within the fibrous outer shell of the seed, which humans can’t digest easily. Flaxseeds, also known as linseeds, are a great source of fiber and omega-3 fats, particularly alpha-linolenic acid (ALA). |
